GUNMEN who fired a single shot at a house on the northside of Limerick city are being sought by Gardai amid fears of reprisal attacks.

Making an appeal for any witnesses that may have seen anything suspicious during the early hours of last Sunday to come forward, Chief Superintendent Gerry Roche said that any information would be helpful.

Shortly after 1am in the early hours of Sunday morning, Gardai said that a car pulled up outside a house in Whitecross Gardens, Moyross.

A gunman discharged a single round at the house but although the house was occupied, there was no injuries reported.

Gardai discovered a car in County Clare that they believe was used in the attack.

Chief Supt Roche said that members of the public could “contact either Henry Street or Mayorstone garda stations. Anyone who may have seen anything I would appeal to them to contact us and let us know their details so we can talk to them,” he said.
