Belltable opens String Quartet Series with Navarra

This Friday 5th at 8pm, Navarra String Quartet

RARELY a venue for classical music anymore, Belltable introduces a new string quartet series on a monthly basis into Christmas, presenting different ensembles for each concert.
Organised by way of the National String Quartet Foundation and master cellist Christopher Marwood, who is known primarily as a founding member of the 32-year strong Vanbrugh Quartet, the first concert in this series fall this Friday October 5 at 8pm.

Book on the venue manager’s website  www.limetreetheatre.ie for The Navarra Quartet.

“The Navarra Quartet are prizewinners at competitions in Canada, Australia and Italy and have an international reputation as one of today’s most dynamic and poetic string quartets,” says Marwood, a passionate advocate for string quartet music in this country. “Their membership includes Irish cellist Brian O’Kane. They will play one of Haydn’s charming yet sophisticated early quartets, Latvian composer Peteris Vasks’ richly atmospheric fourth quartet and Schubert’s epic, monumental G major string quartet.”

The next date will be in November, presenting The Shandon Quartet on November 16.
