RARELY a venue for classical music anymore, Belltable introduces a new string quartet series on a monthly basis into Christmas, presenting different ensembles for each concert.
Organised by way of the National String Quartet Foundation and master cellist Christopher Marwood, who is known primarily as a founding member of the 32-year strong Vanbrugh Quartet, the first concert in this series fall this Friday October 5 at 8pm.
Book on the venue managerโs websiteย www.limetreetheatre.ie for The Navarra Quartet.
โThe Navarra Quartet are prizewinners at competitions in Canada, Australia and Italy and have an international reputation as one of todayโs most dynamic and poetic string quartets,โ says Marwood, a passionate advocate for string quartet music in this country. โTheir membership includes Irish cellist Brian OโKane. They will play one of Haydnโs charming yet sophisticated early quartets, Latvian composer Peteris Vasksโ richly atmospheric fourth quartet and Schubertโs epic, monumental G major string quartet.โ
