Other Voices will feature Limerick’s whenyoung

LIMERICK/ CLARE trio whenyoung are set to feature on ‘Other Voices’. The London based indie band have bagged a much coveted slot at St James’ Church in Dingle which will be filmed and broadcast by the seminal music TV show in early 2019 and streamed worldwide.

whenyoung played a terrific hometown show to a full house in Dolan’s last week celebrating a busy 12 months that has seen their profile rise, with an EP released on Virgin EMI, a support tour with The Vaccines, loads of airplay for their single ‘Given Up’ and a fine cover of ‘Dreams’ by The Cranberries.

The band of Aoife Power (vocals/ bass), Niall Burns (guitar) and Andrew Flood (drums) is in the studio for the next few weeks recording a debut album which will feature some of the latest singles but will also delve into the broader wealth of new sounds that the band are working on right now.

The weekend of recordings will feature new UK artist Jade Bird, Sierra Leonean/ Irish rising soul star Loah and the South African singer and LGBTQ trailblazer Nakhane.

The music trail at ‘Other Voices’ always throws up some fine new talent and quality shows from the experienced artists. This year expect to stumble across Touts, JYellowL, r.kitt, Dowry, A. Smyth, Nialler9, Brand New Friend, Galants, Fears, Thumper, Girlfriend, the fizzing fuzz of Cork wunderkind Laurie Shaw & The Swamp People and the unorthodox pop of Derry’s Strength N.I.A.
