Novas is the largest provider of homeless services in Limerick and the wider Mid-West region. Founded in 2002, we provide a range of services to support people with their Housing, Health and Recovery.
In 2017 Novas supported more than 4,500 people. This was an increase of 29% from the previous 12-month period and 375% since 2010.
Throughout 2017 Novas worked with 176 families and 450 children in Limerick. These families were supported by Novas’ Intensive Family Support service in the city. Approximately 50% of the families supported by Novas were homeless, the remainder were at risk of homelessness.
Novas’ Street Outreach service operates 365 days a year. It provides a warm meal, warm clothing and support and advice to people on the margins of society. In 2017 it provided more than 11,000 warm meals.
We also provide a range of accommodation services throughout the city including McGarry House and Brother Russell House.
There are many ways to get involved this Christmas. On Friday 21st of December Novas are holding their annual sleep-out outside Brown Thomas from 7pm. We are delighted to be joined by some of the winning All-Ireland Hurling Team and the Liam McCarthy Cup.
