Night at the Opera with ICO and Sharon Carty

PLASSEY based Irish Chamber Orchestra presents an opulent evening of opera with mezzo soprano Sharon Carty at St Mary’s Cathedral on Thursday 13,  8pm. On then to Monkstown Parish Church in Dublin for Friday 14.

Handel and Vivaldi are prominent on the programme.

“Sharon Carty is hugely popular among audiences at home and abroad,” reports the ICO’s Charlotte Eglington. “Sharon graduated as a PE teacher from the University of Limerick and it was a chance purchase of a recording of ‘Orfeo ed Euridice’ which took her on a path to becoming one of Ireland’s finest mezzo sopranos, performing across Europe to great acclaim.”

Following further studies at the RIAM Dublin, MDW Vienna, and the Oper Frankfurt Young Artists programme, she is artistic partner to Irish National Opera.
