Manchester night with These Charming Men and the Professor

ONLY five years ago Professor Eoin Devereux began the Manchester Night in Dolan’s and it has since become a “must not miss” part of Limerick’s series of festive offerings at the Dock Road venue.

News of Manchester Night has travelled near and far with the event recently being lauded in the New York Times as being a leading example of a Morrissey/Smiths fan event.  Manchester Night features the talents of These Charming Men and Professor Eoin Devereux.

These Charming Men play an authentic mix of the best of The Smiths and Morrissey.  Lauded by the “increasingly controversial” Steven Patrick Morrissey himself,  These Charming Men once had the unenviable task of deputising for Morrissey at a rock music festival in Japan.

No stranger to the Limerick music scene,  Devereux is an academic by day who has co-edited books about Joy Division, Morrissey and David Bowie.

Professor Devereux comments to Limerick Post, “Now in its fifth year,  Manchester Night is one of the musical highlights of the year at Dolans.  These Charming Men play killer versions of songs such as ‘Panic’ and ‘There Is A Light’.”  Make sure to bring your Gladioli, NHS Glasses and your quiffs. Manchester Night happens at Dolan’s on Saturday December 29.
