Munster could be without Chris Farrell for Friday’s crunch Champions Cup clash with Gloucester at Kingsholm due to an injury picked up in the province’s win over Connacht.

Farrell played the full 80 minutes in the bonus point win last Saturday but will be assessed by the Munster medical department for a problem with his right knee.

JJ Hanrahan could also miss out on the trip to Gloucester after Munster confirmed that he is also being assessed for a left hip injury.

The news is better for John Ryan after he came through his Head Injury Assessment (HIA) without any issues after coming off late in the first half at The Sportsground. He completed the HIA process and was cleared to train.

Chris Cloete has also been cleared to make a return to training. He missed the Connacht game after being stretchered off in the win over Leinster at Thomond Park but his neck injury isn’t as serious as first feared.
