WATCH: LIT bow out of Fitzgibbon in shock defeat to NUIG

LIT are out of the Fitzgibbon Cup following a stunning 1-15 to 2-10 defeat to NUIG in Moylish this afternoon.

Evan Niland starred for the Galway college with 0-9 but LIT missed chances to win the game in added time.

Diarmaid Byrnes lined up a penalty after David Dempsey was fouled but his effort went wide left. Peter Duggan had already had a penalty saved by Shane Hennessey in the first half. Peter Casey scored 1-3 for LIT.

Elsewhere, Mary Immaculate College booked their spot in the last four after a comfortable home 2-20 to 0-12 win over CIT.

Limerick star Aaron Gillane sent over 0-8 for Jamie Wall’s side. They now play NUIG in the semi final next week.
