Tipp Classical brings two days of Irish rock to Semple Stadium

TWO days of nostalgia and classic Irish rock in Thurles Tipperary was the surprise success story of 2018. A sold-out crowd of 20,000 heard Irish bands play their best known anthems with the backing of the ICO and the post gig reaction was so strong, and the audience have been straight up in their request for more.

Limerick production company CWB have just announced the lineup for this year’s festival. Tipp Classical will feature, deep breath, The Sultans of Ping, Therapy?, Wendy James (Transvision Vamp), The Fat Lady Sings, Mundy, and will welcome back The Frank & Walters, The Stunning and Something Happens.

Added to that bill is Picturehouse, Eleanor McEvoy, a Thin Lizzy celebration of the classic live album ‘Live and Dangerous’ with drummer Brian Downey. Jerry Fish will host his own stage with lineup to be announced, Shane McGowan will also featire with the ICO.
The food and drink areas will be extended from last year, well loved elements will remain such as the Prosecco Tent and Applemans Secret Garden. The camping areas will have more capacity and Dustin the Turkey will be back to wreak havoc.

It is a two day event this year. Tipp Classical happens in Thurles on September 20 and 21.
