College choirs from Texas stage free public concert

Temple College Choir, US stage a concert at St Mary's Cathedral tonight, Monday May 20 at 8pm.

TEMPLE College Chorale from Texas in the United States will perform a concert of American, European and Irish music in aid of Sarnelli House Orphanage this Monday 20 at 8pm. The free concert will take place at Mount St Alphonsus Church of the Redemptorists, with a retiring collection for those who wish to aid the charity mission, working with children affected by HIV infection in Thailand.

Here in Limerick, a programme of traditional folk songs, Irish melodies, spirituals and light operetta is in store, presented by 35 singers aged 18+ years who are making their Irish debut.

Dr. Sara Harris Baker is the director of the ensemble, and Dr. Benjamin Irom is the accompanist.  For this concert tour, Temple College Chorale is joined by guests from the Austin Community College Chorale under the direction of Virginia Volpe.
