Victims of Loughill crash named

THE THREE women who died in a head-on collision in county Limerick on Thursday have been named.

One – Mary Noonan – is the sister of former Finance Minister Michael Noonan. She was driving one of the two cars involved.

Her friend, Mary Costello, a passenger in the car also died. The driver of the second car, who was also killed was Meabh Bradley from Pallaskenry.

Al three were in their 70’s as is a fourth woman Mary Griffin, who was injured and is being treated at the University Hospital Limerick.

An investigation is underway into the crash, and Gardai are appealing for witnesses and any dash-cam recordings.

There were two cars involved in the accident on the N69 just outside Loughill village on the Listowel side at around 6.30 on Thursday evening.

It’s understood the three women were travelling to Listowel Writers Week in Kerry.
