THE Miss Marple Mystery arrives for three nights, fuelled by the enduring power of Agatha Christie’s cinematic thrillers. Book from September 30 into October 2 and a matinée option for this sumptuously monied production, coming from London’s Middle Ground Theatre Company.
Lime Tree Theatre is host and marketing manager Gillian Fenton is game on for this whodunnit, which promises “production values that are out of this world. It has a wonderful cast, a cast of six, with many of the actors working in soap operas such as ‘EastEnders’.”
Apparently the producers held off pulling this iteration of the show together until TV stars were freed up from their seasonal contracts for theatre work.
Gill means it: Look to Sarah Thomas (Last Of The Summer Wine) in the title role of the shrewd, pursuant Miss Marple; then Kazia Pelka (Heartbeat/ Family Affairs), Tom Butcher (The Bill/ Doctors), Jenny Funnell (As Time Goes By), Lucy Evans (Coronation Street) and Tom Gibbons (The Archers) for star shine and shivers.
