Raving for all the family at LEAF 2020

King Kong Company

LEAF 2020 (Limerick Electronic Arts Festival) happens in the city on March 5-8. The festival aims to position Limerick city front and centre in the world of electronic arts at the intersection of technology and artistic expression.

Headline acts and events have been announced in the last few weeks, and the good news is that among the late night parties, headline shows and workshops, there is also a family element to the festival.

Sunday March 8 will see the first LEAF Family Rave at the LEAF pop-up warehouse. Booked  to bring the (controlled) noise to this alcohol-free and family friendly early morning gathering, is  Ireland’s festival rave favourite, King Kong Company.

With their famed live show and a reputation that has taken them from Glastonbury to filling the largest stage at Electric Picnic, these rave monsters are just the ticket for this impressive feel good family event.

German dance music pioneers Digitalism will perform at the carnival on Friday March 6 at the Leaf Pop Up Warehouse.

From their classic album ‘Idealism’ and its huge single ‘Zdarlight’ to their stellar remixes for White Stripes and Daft Punk, Digitalism are as at home in the mosh pit as they are on the club dance floor.

Joining them at this special opening night party will be a man who was one of the first international DJs to play in Limerick 25 years ago and is now a global name in techno. Dave Clarke is a titan of electronic music. From his eponymous parties at Amsterdam Dance Event to his radio show ‘White Noise’ beamed to over 40 radio networks around the world, he promises to be the perfect musical foil to Digitalism.

LEAF 2020 is taking place in the city on March 5-8, a first for Limerick.
