Limerick city centre gets a deep clean

LIMERICK city centre’s street surfaces, street furniture, and bins have been given a deep clean as Limerick City and County Council is capitalising on the restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Council staff and contractors are going street by street in the core city centre area to give the public realm a deep cleanse, involving deep clean specialist contractors, Premier Cleaning.

As there are fewer people than usual on Limerick’s streets due to COVID-19 restrictions, Limerick City and County Council has said this allowed team “complete this work more efficiently”.

A Limerick City and County Council spokesperson said, “While this type of cleansing in Limerick City Centre takes place regularly it generally discommodes the public and business owners in the city centre.

“This work is in addition to the daily schedule of making sure our streets are clean and bins emptied.”
