Mayor says announcement by Regeneron is massive boost for Limerick

THE Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr Michael Collins has welcomed the announcementย that Regeneron is to createย 400ย jobs at its base in Raheen in Limerick.ย 

Mayor Collinsย said:ย โ€œRegeneronโ€™s decision to invest in Limerick is yet another vote of confidenceย in the employees already working for the company andย for the Limerick city regionย as a whole.ย 

โ€œSince Regeneron opened itsย Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS) facility in Raheen in 2015, the company has beenย continuouslyย growing with additional capacity being built andย now has a highly-skilled workforce of 1,000. This willย be strengthenedย now with todayโ€™s announcement.ย 

โ€œTodayโ€™s announcementย is a huge commitment by Regeneron in Limerick andย will be aย massiveย boostย to the economy as we begin to workย our way throughย the impact of Covid-19.โ€ย

โ€œIndeed,ย Regeneron is at the forefront in working to find a vaccine for Covid-19 andย Limerick will play its part in the process.ย 

Vincent Murray, Director of Economic Development, Limerick City and County Councilย added: โ€œThis investment by Regeneron is testament to the hard work and commitmentย ofย staff in Limerick since theย operations got underway in 2015.ย 

“The growth ofย Regeneron in Limerick highlightsย theย potentialย thatย FDI companies haveย when they locate here.ย 

โ€œWe have the edge over other regions as we embrace collaboration and work together as a unit to make Limerick a more attractive place for businesses to invest.ย
