WATCH: Connolly Pleased with Treaty Character Despite Defeat

TREATY United first-team coach Niall Connolly was pleased with the fighting spirit and character shown by the team during the 2-3 defeat to Athlone at Jackman Park on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Kellie Brennan, Kayla Brady and Katelyn Keogh provided the visitors with a big win. Cayla Davis and Gillian Keenan scored the goals for Dave Rooney’s men.

Connolly says that it is a steep learning curve for everyone at present as a new club in the league.

“We started off really well. We played Peamount in the first game and fair enough, the scoreline was what it was but there was a lot of positives to take from the game.

After that we went on a good run. Obviously, the last few games in the league haven’t gone our way. We are a young squad and a new club and we are doing a lot of learning at the moment.”
