New music from Limerick musician James Hanley

LIMERICK musician and songwriter Jim Hanley has released ‘Makeshift Prayer’ a four track EP of music written in 2020.
Jim has been a part of the city’s music scene for decades, contributing keyboard parts to countless recordings over the years – from Private World to The O’Malley’s and finally got around to releasing ‘Boomtown’ his solo debut recording late last year.

The Makeshift Prayer EP delivers on the promise of that debut with four tracks of unhurried, quality soul. His track ‘Your Shrinking World’ is a standout and could be interpreted as a perfect anthem to the last 12 months.
“There’s nowhere to run, there’s nowhere to hide,
You’re making plans now,
“For the day that you can leave this all behind.”

Makeshift Prayer EP has strong melodies and exceptional musicianship throughout from Jim on vocals and keyboards with fine contributions from Jane Fraser and Geraldine Frawley on vocals, Dave Keary and Mike Moriarty on guitars, Eoghan O’ Neill and Ralf Lindheim on bass, Alan Keary on violin and cello and Ken Hinchy on tenor/alto sax.

The artwork is by Catriona Hanley and the EP was mastered by Richard Dowling (Wav Mastering).
