Limerick Gardai appeal for witnesses following head-on collision

AT least one person is being treated for injuries following a head-on road traffic collision, in Co Clare, this weekend.

The two-car collision occurred on the R463 at Ardnacrusha, outside the entrance of a garden centre, a short distance beyond Barry’s Cross.
The front of both cars, a 2007 Limerick registered silver Ford, and a 131 Dublin registered Opel, were extensively damaged in the collision.
Local gardai are investigating the collision, which occurred around 5.30pm.
One man was being treated at the scene by paramedics.
The extent of the man’s injuries were not known.
Local gardai are at the scene and traffic delays are reported in the area.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses and dash cam footage after two men aged in their 70s and 40s were injured in a two-car collision on the outskirts of Limerick.

The head-on collision occurred on the R463 at Blackwater, Ardnacrusha, a short distance from Barry’s Cross, shortly before 6pm, Friday, June 18.

The front of both cars, a 2007 Limerick registered silver Ford, and a 131 Dublin registered Opel, were extensively damaged in the collision.

A Garda spokesman said: “At approximately 5.50pm Gardaí attended at the scene of collision involving two vehicles on the R463 at Blackwater, Ardnacrusha.”

“Both drivers, male 40s and 70s, were taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.”

“Their injures are not thought to be life threatening and they were the sole occupants.“

The spokesman appealed for anyone with information to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061-212400.
