Limerick Camogie team to face Wexford announced with injury and Covid-related absentees

THE Limerick Camogie team to play Wexford in the opening round of the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship has been announced.

Pat Ryan has picked a strong side who will be looking to avenge their Munster final defeat to Cork.

Limerick do have a few notable absentees through injuries of COVID-related hits.

Three changes have been made to the starting side that faced Cork, including first starts of the season for Néamh Curtin, Laura Stack & Sinead McNamara.

The manager spoke of the appetite that the whole squad has to do something special with the remainder of the campaign.

“A lot of those players that came on against Cork proved that they’re hungry.”

The championship opener is set to take place this Saturday July 17th in Newcastle West, with throw-in at 2:30pm.
