THE next Farmers Market at Rockbarton Garden Centre, Bruff, Co Limerick, will put dogs centre stage with a special once-off dog show. Taking place on Sunday 12thSeptember, families are invited to enter their pooches in one or more categories. Rosettes will be awarded to the first, second and third dog of each category and a trophy for the Champion Dog.

As with every Rockbarton Farmers Market, there will be a diverse range of local produce, homemade bakes and artisan gifts available.  Open from 10am to 3pm, over 30 stalls of fresh food will feature in the outdoor market including; Cheese Girls, Culbac Farm (fresh eggs), Baking4U, Laura’s Baking, Cookie n’Crumb and Gems Coffee. Much of the food is organic and all of it has been grown, produced or sourced by small producers across Limerick.

According to Lynda Sheehan, owner of Rockbarton Garden Centre, the popularity of Farmers Markets has grown in recent times. “With the explosion of online shopping since the pandemic, the market gives local producers a chance to meet their customer and for the customer to see the outstanding quality that is available in our locality. Families enjoy getting out and about in a safe environment and experiencing the local produce and crafts that Limerick has to offer,” she said.
