WATCH: Cappamore manager Declan Deere says his side will “give it our all” ahead of PIHC opener against Knockainey

THE 2021 Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship kicks off next weekend.

The second tier of Limerick hurling begins on the weekend of September 4/5 with four fixtures across the competition.

Cappamore manager Declan Deere feels his side have a “good panel” that can do well In the championship and will be looking to start it off with a win against Knockainey.

In preparing his side for the new campaign, Deere mentioned how Covid has impacted all players and coaches across the county throughout the year, however, felt that his side are ready to go following the games played in June and July. He stated:

“Preparations have gone well, there was a good East Championship back in June, July so that broke up the training”.

“On any given day any of the teams could beat each other, that’s the reality of it… there’ll be a point or two or a lot of draws in the championship… We’ve a lot of experience, a lot of lads proven at this level, we’ve tried to add a bit of youth to the panel, we think we have a good panel”. He added.

The Cappamore manager believes in his side, but also recognises the level of competition within the championship. His side will do all they can to start with a win and make a statement in this years campaign. He said:

“We are where we are now and we’ll give it our all”.

The game will take place on the Saturday in Kilteely at 6:45pm.
