13 Munster players have been included in Farrellโs 50-man squad for a one day camp ahead of Autumn International preparations.
Irish Rugby head coach Andy Farrell is beginning his preparations for what is set to be a very busy year of international rugby ahead. Farrell will host a one day camp in the IRFUโs High Performance Centre at the Sport Ireland Campus in Dublin, with an extended 50-man squad.
Munster Rugby is well represented with thirteen players included in Farrellโs training squad, seasoned players such as Keith Earls, Conor Murray and Peter OโMahony all return to Farrellโs squad along with some of the provinceโs newer names, such as Craig Casey, Shane Daly, Fineen Wycherley and Gavin Coombes.
Joey Carbery, Andrew Conway and Chris Farrell are also included in Farrellโs extended squad along with fellow Munster teammates Dave Kilcoyne, John Ryan and Tadhg Beirne.
Andy Farrell faces what could be his defining year as Irish head coach, with a whole host fixtures set against some of international rugbyโs most outstanding oppositions.
The 2021/22 international season will begin with the Autumn Internationals, where Ireland are set to take on Japan, New Zealand and Argentina at the Aviva Stadium in November.
In February and March of next year, Ireland face the difficult away fixtures against England and France in the 2022 Six Nations Championships while Ireland host Wales, Italy and Scotland at the Aviva Stadium.
Farrell and his squadโs most difficult test of the year is undoubtedly their summer tour to New Zealand in July. The last time an Irish squad played a three test series in New Zealand was under Declan Kidney in 2012, Ireland lost the series 0 games to 3 with a 60 โ 0 scoreline in the final test.
