THE Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship is down to the final two with Mungret St Pauls and Cappamore set to face off.
On Saturday, Mungret were the first side to book their place in the final as they overcame Glenroe 1-18 to 0-11 to advance to the decider for the second consecutive year.
The returning Paul O’Brien had the ball in the net for the City side inside four minutes and from here they didn’t relent, leading by ten at the break. They maintained that advantage to the final whistle to return to the final.

An early blitz from Cappamore stunned Newcastle West, who topped their group, as they led by seven at the first water break.
In the end the margin was twelve, as Cappamore’s 1-18 to 1-6 win moves them within one game of the senior ranks for the first time since 2018.
Mungret St Pauls and Cappamore’s final clash will act as a curtain raiser for the senior final on October 24, throwing in at 1.45pm.
Elsewhere, Murroe Boher suffered a second consecutive relegation as they will play in the Intermediate Ranks in 2022, just a pair of years after competing in the senior championship.
The 0-16 to 0-13 win maintains Bruff’s place in the Premier Intermediate championship for another year.
