Gardaí seek witnesses after pedestrians injured when car mounted footpath

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a road traffic collision in which two pedestrians were injured when a car mounted a footpath and collided with them.

The incident occurred in the Castletroy area last Wednesday, October 27, gardaí said today.

Appealing for information, Sergeant Ber Leetch, Henry Street Garda Station, Limerick, said: “On Wednesday October 27, gardaí attended at a traffic accident on the Groody Road, Castletroy between 16.30hrs and 16.40hrs. A single car, a silver Toyota Celica, lost control and left the road, mounted the footpath and collided with two pedestrians, a young man and woman.”

“The man suffered a serious leg injury while the young woman received an injury to her hand.”

“The Groody Road would have been very busy at this time and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision and any motorists with dash cams to please contact them on 061 212400,” Sgt Leetch said.
