Independent Limerick councillor joins Sinn Féin

Cllr PJ Carey

PJ CAREY, who represents the Cappamore-Kilmallock Electoral Area as an independent councillor on Limerick City and County Council, has joined Sinn Féin.

Stating that he believes Sinn Féin is genuinely committed to delivering the type of change that Ireland needs, Cllr Carey said he was looking forward to working with the party to deliver change locally and nationally.

“That means putting workers and families first, building homes, addressing the crisis in our health service, tackling crime, getting to grips with the increasing cost of living and starting to plan for Irish Unity,” he explained.

Sinn Féin TD for Limerick Maurice Quinlivan described Cllr Carey as a fantastic addition to the party’s team in Limerick.

“I have known him for many years and he is a first class public representative. A tireless campaigner on behalf of workers and families in his community and across Limerick, I look forward to working closely with him in the time ahead.”
