Graham Shine reveals 40-player Ladies Football Squad ahead of League campaign

LIMERICK will operate in the bottom tier of the League and the Junior Championship this year.

Graham Shine has first named his Limerick Ladies Football squad ahead of the 2022 season. 40 players are chosen with 14 clubs represented.

Old Mill’s Roisin Ambrose will captain the side with Oola’s Amy Ryan as vice.

There are a number of interesting inclusions, including the return of 2018 All-Ireland winning captain Cathy Mee. Also returning to the team are a number of that winning side such as Ava Hartigan, Sarah O’Sullivan, Aine McGrath, Niamh Ryan, Mee, Rebecca Delee, Mairead Kavanagh and Catriona Davis who all started that win over Louth in Croke Park.

Last year’s Senior camogie captain Karen O’Leary is selected as is teammate Deborah Murphy, with both playing starring roles in Monagea’s senior championship win.

Back-to-back Intermediate champions Dromcollogher Broadford have no representatives.

St Ailbes and Ballylanders are the best represented with five selections a piece while Old Mill and Oola both have four players chosen.

Shine’s side will begin their season at home to London and Offaly in successive weeks. They round out the group stage of the league away to Calow on March 6. The top two team from 4B and 4A advance to the semi-finals of the league.
