Decision imminent on Foynes to Limerick Road

Traffic building up in Adare

AN BORD Pleanála has confirmed that a decision is imminent on the Foynes to Limerick Road which incorporates the Adare Bypass.

Minister of State and Limerick Fianna Fáil TD Niall Collins said he had been informed by the planning board that a decision is due on the proposed 35km development after inspectors complete their report next month.

Limerick City and County Council applied for planning permission in December 2019 for the development and a decision has been delayed several times.

“This particular piece of infrastructure is paramount to the future development of West County Limerick and I am anxious to see a decision made on the project as soon as possible. It is a long delayed decision which is holding back progressive development in the area,” Minister Collins said.
