Mary Black’s 25 years of magical music

MARY Black is regarded as one of the most important vocalists of her generation; with multi-platinum selling albums and a string of awards to her name. Mary’s enduring success has proven that her depth of talent and love of singing transcend the generations.
For over a quarter-century, singer Mary Black has been a dominant presence in Irish music, both at home and abroad, having released 11 studio albums all of which achieved platinum sales status and spawned countless hits.
Mary was delighted to be back on the road in October/November 2021 – these were her first live performances in two years and as she said herself “it was magical to be back’.Mary and her legendary band enthralled audiences playing favourites from her back catalogue, songs we know by heart from ‘No Frontiers’ to ‘Song for Ireland’, ‘Past The Point Of Rescue’, ‘Carolina Rua’, ‘Katie’, ‘A Woman’s Heart’ and many more.
During the tour she still found time to film for ’The Heart of Saturday Night’ and ‘The Restaurant’ and to feature in a documentary entitled ’The Flourishing’.
She has shared stages, TV shows and recording studios with some of the most revered performers of her time. She has also played a front-line role in bringing Irish music, past and present, to an increasingly appreciative and ever-growing global audience.
In an industry noted for its fickleness and it’s almost insatiable need for fresh novelties Mary Black’s enduring successes have proven that her depth of talent and her love of singing transcend the generations, as well as national and musical boundaries.
Mary will perform with her band, featuring Bill Stanley (guitar), Pat Crowley (piano and accordion), Nick Scott (double bass), Richie Buckley (saxophone), and Liam Bradley (drums & percussion).
