LABOUR Party councillor Elena Secas has urged the local authority to expedite the design process for the provision of a Columbarium Wall on the west side of the Kilmurry cemetery.
“Given the continuing move towards the use of crematoriums, our communities are in real need of a suitable and respectful place for relatives to store the ashes of departed loved ones,” Cllr Secas said at this month’s Metropolitan District meeting of Limerick City and County Council.
Director of Services for Planning, Nuala Gallagher explained that the Council is finalising a design for the orientation and layout of a number of Columbarian Walls for Kilmurry cemetery.
