Some of the houses in Pineview Gardens that are being saved from demolition.

61 houses in Pineview Gardens, Moyross that were due to be demolished have now been saved from the wrecking ball.

Fianna Fáil TD Willie O’Dea revealed that he has received confirmation that the homes will be retained and repaired and improved like any other Council housing stock.

“For a number of years now, 61 houses in Pineview Gardens, Moyross, have been scheduled for demolition as part of the Limerick Regeneration programme.

“Residents living in these houses couldn’t even get basic repairs or improvements to their homes carried out, as the Council deemed these works to be a waste of resources when the houses were to be knocked anyway.

“This news will now come as a significant relief to the many residents concerned,” Deputy O’Dea added.
