Gardaí are currently at the scene of the fatal collision that occurred at around 12.30am  on the R512 at Carrigmartin, Ballyneety around ten kilometres from Limerick City.

The road is currently closed and Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place.

Earlier this afternoon, Assistant Garda Commissioner Paula Hilman, made an appeal for greater care on roads as it was confirmed that seven people  have died in road traffic collisions over the June Bank Holiday weekend since last Thursday.
