Casey signs three-year Munster extension

Irish international Craig Casey had much to celebrate this weekend as he marked his new three-year deal with Munster by bagging his 50th appearance with the province, a clash with Zebre which ended 21-5 in the home side’s favour.

Talented scrum-half Casey (23), who debuted against Connacht in 2019 – a year in which he was named Academy Player of the Year and also vice-captained the Ireland Under-20 Grand Slam winning side – is a product of Ardscoil Rís and is attached to Shannon. He has also earned five senior caps with Ireland.

Shane Daly, Mike Haley, Josh Wycherley, and Alex Kendellen, meanwhile, have also all accepted two-year extensions with Munster.

Daly (25, Cork Constitution) joined Munster three years ago, and has established himself as a key member of the squad. He is currently on tour with the Emerging Ireland squad in South Africa.

Haley (28), arrived here from Sale Sharks in 2018 and has already amassed 80 appearances for the province, starting at full-back on each occasion. He currently has 16 tries to his credit.

Wycherley (23) started club life with Bantry and since his linkup with Munster has been attached to Young Munster. He too celebrated an anniversary appearance of 30 with the province at the weekend.

Corkman Kendellen (21), currently following return to play protocols which caused him to miss the trip to SA, was Ireland Under-20 captain for the 2021 Six Nations Championship.
