Limerick council approved 74 home loans since 2020

SINCE 2020, a total of 74 home loan applications have been approved by Limerick City and County Council evaluators.

Over the same period, 25 Rebuilding Ireland home loans were approved, 31 in 2021, and 18 in 2022 to date.

The information was conveyed to Limerick Labour Party councillor Joe Leddin who asked for clarification on the application process and the main reasons for refusal.

He was told that when an application is refused, it may be because an applicant did not meet the eligibility of a home loan scheme; they may be experiencing credit issues or have an unsatisfactory savings record, or they may not have been able demonstrate repayment capacity.
