LIMERICK City and County Council has been asked to take steps to give the former Sisters of Mercy convent in Abbeyfeale a new lease of life.
FINE Gael councillor Liam Galvin proposed at this month’s Newcastle West area meeting that they ask the Sisters what they would like to see done with the building.
Fianna Fรกil councillor and Limerick Mayor Francis Foley said that many local people have affiliation with the former school site.
“It is time we made a decision as this has been going on for years. I suppose it will cost millions to do anything with the inside of it,” he suggested.
