LIMERICK artist Orla Hickey launched her new series of art prints, ‘Dreams’, at the Showcase national exhibition in Dublin’s RDS on Sunday last (January 22).
Orla’s art business, Urban Fabric, based in county Limerick, flourished during the Covid-19 pandemic as customers sought new prints for their homes and offices.
The prolific artist’s colourful reinterpretations of Irish landmarks grew particularly popular with overseas buyers over the lockdown period. In 2023, she is hoping to expand her rapidly growing reputation further internationally. She is becoming more and more able to do this, she says, through the help of Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick.
“I would like to thank the Local Enterprise Office Limerick for their support to go to Showcase, where I have had a chance to meet international buyers and network with other businesses. I am very excited about the opportunities it has opened for me this year,” Orla said.
Orla’s works are produced and printed in Limerick using only Irish products to reflect Ireland’s craft heritage.
Urban Fabric and Mindful Beauty from Cappamore were the local representatives chosen to boast the best of Limerick at the Showcase exhibition.
