Limerick syndicate claim €11.1 million lottery jackpot

-

IT WAS a life-altering occasion at National Lottery headquarters in Dublin last Wedneday when a County Limerick syndicate claimed more than €11 million in prize money that they won on January 4.

The group, who have asked to remain anonymous, won €11,106,438 on a  Quick Pick ticket they purchased at Kelly’s Costcutter store in Foynes.

The spokesperson of the large winning syndicate spoke of  how they have coped since winning the jackpot and their plans for their individual share of the winnings.

“The last two weeks have been a complete blur and it’s been hard for us to get our heads around the fact that we have won a prize as big as this. We didn’t believe it at all – we must have checked the numbers on the ticket a hundred times and scanned it on the lottery app every chance we could get!

“The first couple of days, we were all dealing with the shock of it, but we’ve gotten our heads together and started to make our own plans for the money and I think we will all be very sensible when it comes to spending it.

“We are all at different stages of our lives, some of the group will be paying off mortgages and others will be looking at buying first homes so it’s a great position for us all to be in.

“One thing that keeps coming through is that we’re going to look after our family, that’s the most important thing for us all!” the spokesperson added.
