GARDAÍ have made a fresh appeal for witnesses to a road traffic collision in which a man in his 40s died in Limerick last week.

The man was driving a car that was involved in a collision with a truck on the N69 near Mungret at around 9.30am on Tuesday, January 24.

“A grey Hyundai 130 hatchback was travelling between the Dock Road West Roundabout towards Mungret when it collided into a large yellow recovery truck which was travelling in the opposite direction,” said Garda John Finnerty of Henry Street Garda Station.

“Unfortunately the driver of the car lost his life. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to come forward if they have not already done so. Please contact the Roads Policing Unit at Henry Street Garda Station. The number is 061-212400,” Garda Finnerty said.

Gardaí also appealed for road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N69 in the Mungret area around the time of the collision to make this footage available to them.
