Limerick Garda warning of springtime crime

Fit a good quality lock to your garden shed.

SPRING has arrived – and so have the criminals who make hay while the sun shines by stealing gardening equipment.

On Sunday last, at 10.45pm, a report was made to Gardaí in Newcastle West that the outdoor area of a garden furniture store had been entered and the alarm had been set off.

The company monitoring the alarm is linked to the CCTV and they could describe in real time what was happening.

Limerick Garda Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Ber Leetch is warning that any home garden equipment left outside is a target.

“Never leave your garden equipment unattended, even for a few minutes. It’s important to secure your garden shed with a good quality lock and bolt and install outside sensor lighting for added security.
