Munster football and hurling championships launch tonight

CORK’S Páirc Uí Chaoimh will host the launch of the upcoming Munster Senior Hurling and Football Championships on this Wednesday night. 

Limerick will be represented by respective managers John Kiely and Mark Fitzgerald, while Seamus McNamara (Chairman), Wayne Fitzgerald (Football Chairman), Michael O’Riordan (Secretary) and Paul Anglim (Football Secretary) will also be in attendance. 

Limerick’s player representatives will be Mike Casey (hurling) and Cian Sheehan (football). The event will be hosted by Munster Chairman Ger Ryan of Tipperary. 

Limerick are engaged in both championships on the weekend ending April 23, with the footballers out against either Cork (away) or Clare (home) – who meet at Cusack Park, Ennis on Sunday next.

The hurlers are up against Waterford in the opening fixture of the round robin series the following afternoon at Semple Stadium, Thurles.

The launch will take place before the Munster Under-20 Hurling Championship game between Cork and Tipperary, throw-in 7.30pm (live on TG4 YouTube).

Meanwhile, tickets for the senior hurling championship fixtures will go on sale this Thursday at Centra and SuperValu stores across Limerick while some will be available from TicketMaster.
