A woman in her 40s has been found dead in a Limerick City hotel this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services were dispatched to the Strand Hotel on the Ennis Road after 3am when the woman’s body was discovered.

A Garda spokeswoman said they are looking into all the circumstances in relation to the death and investigations are ongoing.

The body remains at the scene, and a postmortem will take place in due course which will determine the course of the investigation, the spokeswoman added.
