GardaĆ­ investigating after car overturns in Limerick City

GARDAƍ are investigating the circumstances that led to a car being flipped onto its roof in Limerick City last night.

The accident happened at around 9.20pm near the entrance to St. John’s Hospital on New Road.

GardaĆ­, paramedics from the National Ambulance Service and members of the Limerick Fire and Rescue Service were present at the scene.

In a statement to the Limerick Post, GardaĆ­ said that an elderly man had been removed from the car and was taken to University Hospital Limerick.

“GardaĆ­ attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Johns Street, Limerick yesterday evening Tuesday, May 16.”

“One elderly male occupant of the car was removed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigations ongoing.”
