Irish Citylink and GoBus Announced as Official Travel Partner for Galway International Arts Festival CITYLINK and GoBus, a provider of scheduled coach services, have announced their partnership with Galway International Arts Festival as the official travel partners for the upcoming festival.
“Irish Citylink and GoBus are proud to come on board and partner with Galway’s premier arts festival,” said Frances Cahill, General Manager for Irish Citylink and GoBus.
“The art scene in Galway is second to none and bringing people from all across Ireland to the city for the Galway International Arts festival is exciting.”
With a strong commitment to reducing environmental impact, Citylink and GoBus aim to revolutionise how attendees travel to festivals, while fostering a greener and more eco-conscious event experience.
Recognising the significant carbon footprint and costs associated with individual vehicle travel to festivals, Citylink and GoBus provide an affordable alternative that reduces traffic congestion, decreases air pollution, and support a more sustainable future.
“Galway International Arts Festival is making step changes to reduce its impact on the environment, year on year, as it moves towards a more sustainable future. As such, it is delighted to partner with Citylink and GoBus to promote more sustainable transport options to attendees, volunteers and artists,” said John Crumlish, GIAF CEO.
Citylink and GoBus feature a fleet of modern and well-equipped luxury coaches featuring onboard toilets, leather seats, extra legroom, sockets for charging electrical devices, and free Wi-Fi. Both companies are committed to delivering a comfortable, safe, and hassle-free journey, allowing attendees to focus on enjoying the festival to the fullest.
Based in Galway, Citylink and GoBus operate seven main routes, offering 170 daily departures. Both companies provide express services from Galway to Dublin City and Dublin Airport, express services from Galway to Limerick, Cork City and Cork Airport, express services from Limerick to Dublin Airport and Cork City to Dublin City and Airport, as well as multi-stop services from Galway to Athlone.
Nearly 50 per cent of GIAF’s attendees on average are from outside Galway, necessitating travel to Galway for the festival in July. As GIAF travel partner, Citylink and GoBus are working with the festival on promoting its bus services to potential GIAF attendees pre, during, and post festival.
