Beating her own personal best, Limerick athlete Sarah Lavin became the first Irish track and field competitor to qualify for the upcoming Olympics in Paris in 2024.

The accomplished Lavin clocked a personal record of 12.73sec as she took the silver in the 100m hurdles at the Diamond League Meeting in Stockholm.

She finished behind Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, current world champion.

The Limerick woman’s Olympic qualification comes just a week after she brought home the bronze at the European Games in Poland.
