LIMERICK’S Tim Rice currently sits just behind Dubliner Richie O’Donovan in the Irish PGA Order of Merit.

Seldom out of the top five in recent tournaments, 2017 Irish PGA Champion Rice was winner of the Grange Pro-Am back in May.

Last autumn, he won the Munster PGA Series with a cracking six-under par round of 66 at Castletroy.

Next weekend, he competes in the Elm Park Pro-Am in Dublin.

The 46-year-old will also be a lead contender for the €15,000 Newcastle West Pro-Am, which has been announced for August 19 (for team entry, contact 069/76500).
