GARDAÍ in Limerick are appealing for information after a woman was robbed in broad daylight in the City Centre on Friday last (July 7).

The woman was walking along Little Glentworth Street at around 4.15pm when a man on a bicycle cycled up behind her, grabbed her backpack, and tried to cycle off with it.

The woman tried to hold on to the bag, eventually being dragged onto the ground by the man, injuring her hands in the process.

After a brief struggle, the woman let go of the bag and the man ran off with it, leaving his bike at the scene.

He ran in the direction of Davis Street, and Gardaí at Henry Street Garda Station are appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw anything suspicious in the area around that time to come forward.
