Limerick TD calls on Justice Minister to stop playing to ‘woke gallery’

Limerick Fianna Fáil TD Willie O'Dea.

JUSTICE Minister Helen McEntee should stop playing to the “woke gallery” and focus on crime.

That was the call from Limerick TD Willie O’Dea in a column in last weekend’s Sunday Indepenent.

“The public want her to focus more on delivering safe streets than on playing to the woke gallery,” the former Minister for Defence wrote.

He added that “every minute spent pushing a flawed hate bill or allowing Gardaí who pursue criminals to be investigated is a minute wasted.”

Outlining a number of examples of anti-social behaviour relayed to him by constituents, the Deputy called on the Minister to “dramatically increase” Garda numbers and resources on the streets to weed out “the growing problem of street crime and wanton anti-social behaviour.”
