SEVEN non-for-profit organisations working in Limerick have been awarded €70,000 in funding through the Ireland Funds ‘Heart of the Community’ fund.

Among the local recipients of the annual fund this year are the Learning Hub Limerick, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the Children’s Grief Centre, the Haven Hub, Doras, Narrative 4 Ireland, and jumpAgrade.

The seven Limerick recipients are among 94 organisations to receive funding across 24 counties in an effort to curb challenges faced by charities in securing funding to build their capacity and meet core operating costs.

The Heart of the Community Fund is an open grant round designed to meet the needs of not-for-profit organisations delivering vital services and supports to people across the island of Ireland.

The Ireland Funds recognises the challenges organisations face in securing funding to build their capacity or meet their core costs.
