Limerick housing stock increased in last census, according to CSO figures

HOUSING stock in Limerick grew by 4 per cent in the years between 2016 and 2022, according to new figures, released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The latest release of data from the April 2022 census which showed the housing stock throughout County Limerick has grown to 85,363 from the 82,112 reflected in the previous 2016 census.

This puts Limerick below the national average increase of 5 per cent – from 2,003,645 in April 2016 to 2,112,121 in April 2022.

The data release also showed that as many as 3,649 homes in Limerick had no working smoke alarms.
