Cian Ducrot hits the Number One spot

AFTER his sold out show at Dolans last weekend, singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot is celebrating a Number One record in the Irish Album Chart today. The album has the biggest chart entry this year for a debut album and has been certified platinum.
Cian thanked his many supporters today.
โ€œWe are #1! My debut album โ€˜Victoryโ€™ is #1. Thank you so much. Itโ€™s my first ever #1 at home in Ireland โ€“ unbelievable! Thank you so much for the support. Iโ€™m so so so grateful.โ€

The Cork born artist has enjoyed a succession of landmark moments leading up to his debut album release, including a Choice Music Prize for Irish Breakthrough Artist of the Year for 2022. Other highlights have included two Top 20 UK singles with โ€˜All For Youโ€™ and โ€˜Iโ€™ll Be Waitingโ€™; huge shows as guest to Ed Sheeran and Dermot Kennedy, surpassing over half a billion streams across tracks; and a stream of engaging fan interactions – from one-to-one duets to attention-grabbing flash mobs – which have resulted in a huge following across social media.

Yet for all his instantly engaging charisma, Cianโ€™s catalogue of classic melodies and highly relatable lyrics come from personal experiences and often immensely challenging emotions. As weโ€™ve heard from his previous singles, Cian holds nothing back in his songwriting, whether heโ€™s lamenting the loss of a late friend (โ€˜Part of Meโ€™), celebrating the relationship with his brother which has flourished in spite of a tough upbringing (โ€˜Heavenโ€™), or accepting that ghosts of past romances still linger when youโ€™re with someone new (โ€˜Everyone Who Falls In Loveโ€™).
Cian Ducrot plays Live at the Big Top, Limerick Milk Market on December 11.
