THE DATE for the 2023 Island Swim has been set, and organisers are calling on everyone throughout Limerick to take part.

This year’s swim will take place on September 9 and, as always, will be swam in aid of Cliona’s Foundation.

Organisers, Limerick Narwhals, say that the annual event has grown in leaps and bounds, and splashes, since 2019 when more 350 swimmers and 100 volunteers took part in the inaugural swim.

This year hopes to see an even larger participation, with swimmers from the UK, USA, Canada, France, and Australia – as well as World Ice Swimming champion Marcin Szarpak of Poland – already registered.
